Three ways to use this reaction

Instructions after the fact: Me reading the instructions after breaking it

Instructions after the fact

The order of events exposes the mistake without another explanation.

Missing the obvious: When the answer is obvious but not to me

Missing the obvious

The self-directed setup lets the expression supply the confusion.

Comprehension pending: I understood every word except all of them

Comprehension pending

The final phrase reverses the confident opening.

Which Patrick image is this?

This is the close-up drooling Patrick reaction, with an unfocused look and uneven eyes. It is different from the surprised open-mouth Patrick, a menacing Patrick image, or an ordinary scene featuring the character. Identifying the face matters because these versions deliver different reactions even when they share the same name in a search.

Give the mistaken logic a clear target

The caption works best when it reveals a small misunderstanding: an instruction interpreted too literally, a shortcut that creates more work, or an answer that sounds confident until you think about it. Name the actual instruction or mistake. A vague caption about being foolish gives the expression less to do than a recognizable everyday error.

Let the viewer notice the contradiction

Put the mistaken conclusion in the character's voice or make yourself the subject of the joke. Keep the sentence matter-of-fact. The image supplies the exaggerated cluelessness, so you do not need to label the mistake again underneath it. If the setup requires three explanations before the contradiction appears, shorten it to the last decision that went wrong.

Choose the reaction without making it personal

The template's common name describes the meme format. A playful self-own or a fictional situation keeps the joke focused on the decision rather than somebody's appearance or ability. For someone who understands the problem but has no response, try Mike's deadpan stare. For doubt about somebody else's claim, use Chloe's side eye.

Make your own version

  1. Open the template. The editor loads the source image and an editable caption layer.
  2. Replace the caption. Keep Patrick's face and drool unobscured. Put the mistaken statement in the upper caption and check that it reads before the face delivers the reaction.
  3. Preview and export. Read the caption at normal speed, then download the five-second MP4. The source picture remains still.

You can replace the source image or reset the caption. Projects save locally in this browser; export a copy before clearing browser data. Drafts do not sync across devices.
